A dark and dense atmosphere, disruptive and with some doom nuances within a blend of black and death. A journey with a distinct personality, featuring both aggressive passages and instrumental, ethereal moments. The vocals, however, need improvement.

Eternal Death
A solid black metal album, with old-school influences, yet it ultimately fails to dazzle. There are some inspiring glimpses, but not enough to make it a standout record.

The debut work of Barbarous is an angry and aggressive force of death metal that blends old-school death with more modern subgenres, without reinventing the wheel. A band worth following as they evolve.

The Canadians Centuries Of Decay have released their second work, A Monument Of Oblivion, which is a wild journey through various metal genres. With prog always at the forefront, we pass through black, death, and even doom. There are moments of excellence in this work, but not enough to make it a true reference—some maturity is still lacking. Nevertheless, it is a huge surprise that grows with every listen. An album to revisit and a band to keep an eye on.

Four tracks of atmospheric black metal journey, with melodies to lean back and relax to, clearly influenced by seminal bands of the genre. A work that grows with each new listen. A pleasant surprise.

The second album by the Colombians Sursum Corda is a blast of raw death metal with average production. Sung in Spanish with poors vocals, it is an album that feels like it lacks refinement and is still searching for its own identity. There are some moments of good quality, but not enough to fully capture my attention.

Scrying The Angel Gate
Full Length

Transylvanian Recordings
Scrying The Angel Gate is a work with good details and a handful of influences, but it lacks the strength to be excellent. It has solid riffs, excellent vocals, and a good dose of doom, yet despite the evident attempt to do something different, it ultimately turns out to be rather generic.

Quality thrash as it should be—aggressive and powerful. Some crossover moments prevent the album from becoming monotonous, but still not enough to stand out from what already exists. Excellent production.
